Default Anyone Passed Medical With 'Sleep Apnoea'?

Hi all,

I went to see a doctor at hospital yesterday & they diagnosed me as having this 'Sleep Apnoea Disorder' thingy. It's when you stop breathing while you're asleep & your brain momentarily 'wakes up' to start your breathing process again. The read out said I was doing this a couple of hundred times a night. It can be controlled with a machine that supplies air through a mask on your face while you are sleeping....but now I am getting worried about passing our medicals, although they are a long way off.

Has anyone on here been diagnosed as having this 'Sleep Apnoea' and passed the medical? :scared:

Your own GP won't be doing your meds so, when you come to do your meds with the panel GP don't mention it unless he specifically asks.

Good luck !

And then if immigration find out about it, your visa will be revoked!

It does not sound a serious disorder that would cost a lot. I would not lose any sleep over (sorry about the pun). As Jane and Jim say honesty is the best policy.

If it ain't dangerous and highly contagious (which it isn't) and/or likely to cost the Oz system a lot of money (which it isn't), I doubt it will be an issue.

Just relax and...wake up!

I was once diagnosed with 'average' SA. Then exercised and lost weight etc. And it significantly improved.

Ok, I feel a bit more relieved now...I think the pressure of Medicals might make me lose a bit of weight where all else has failed!

Cheers, Chris Effy.
