Yes it does make sense, as this is what goes through my mind on a daily basis. Just that i read on here how people are so unhappy in Brissy, it makes me think twice.
I know everyone is different, but i feel too unlucky to have any luck!!! does that make sense:unsure: If you can manage a week over here with or without family, it might help. |
Re: anyone moved interstate?did it work out?
As someone else has already said the best thing to do is have a look around another area. We have all come so far that moving interstate really is very painless. There is the cost of cause but if you eventually get settled then it will be worth it. We are all alot happier in Qld.

Re: anyone moved interstate?did it work out?
We spent 14 months in Adelaide and then moved to Perth.
It cost a fair bit but no where near as much as the journey over here in the first place. Also have many friends that have pingpomed and its cost them a fortune. We are happy with our move and glad we did it, good luck with whatever you decide. Di |
Re: anyone moved interstate?did it work out?
Have you maybe tried another part of Adelaide?? My kids come from a great school in the UK and the one we have found here in Adelaide is fantastic cant fault it at all they have recognised my daughter is above average intelligence and the things they are pushing her into and ensuring she is stretched etc etc I am quite amazed as I didnt have any of that in the UK!
Weather has been pretty dim last couple of months here in Adelaide but we are just coming out of winter???? As for long working hours we have many friends that have been in jobs with long hours but have now found positions paying reasonable money that dont require blood sweet and tears!! My OH has had more jobs here in Adelaide in the last 9 months than he has had in his whole wokring life in the UK but finally we have managed to find the right one and he coulndt be happier, only a month ago he wanted to return to the UK and now there is no way he would!! Amazing how just one thing clicking changes your whole outlook!! I am not being patronising as I am sure you have looked at all your options, but if Adelaide isnt the place then i agree with the others take a look in Oz before you return to the UK!! What ever you go for good luck!! |

I agree different areas offer different things.Sometimes it can feel like the whole place is wrong.when in fact it is OH job(hours much much too long and stressful)and sons school(he says the teachers dont care and neither do the kids whether they do well) the difficulty comes in deciding A do we all return to UK??where son will be happy B try a different part of OZ, maybe the same probs/maybe not C try different schools and jobs??risk of starting him at a school he is no happier in only to move anyway Oh for a crystal ball or some other way of seeing into the future:curse::curse: |

Re: anyone moved interstate?did it work out?
Hi
I would totaly agree with what people are saying on here, If you dont try how do you know it is not for you, You made the biggest move of your life relocating to Australia, moving interstate will feel very small compared to what you have already done. We have friends that have moved interstate and our neighbors moved from sydney to North side of brisbane,if they need to go back to sydney for work she just catches a flight, its so cheap now, only last week we meet a family that had migrated to Sydney and been there for a year, they have relocated to north side of brisbane and wishes they had moved here first, as many people have said on this forum , queensland has the best climate and so much to see and do for all ages. I have got a motto i keep saying to many people and i live by it YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE SO JUST DO IT, you can do anything if you want to all the best with what ever you decide:thumbsup: </IMG> |
