My apologies devonshire.. the thread has digressed a bit.

I can only offer you my opinion of Perth. If you loved Sydney then you may find Perth a bit quiet because that is how I view Perth. I am a Londoner and I imagine Sydney a much more vibrant and cosmopolitan place than Perth,

At the end of the day it really depends on the type of lifestyle you want though. If beaches, bbq’s in your neighbours yards, week in, week out and the twice yearly trip to Hillary’s, and the trip down south once a year is your thing then Perth may be for you.

If you want a little bit of life and culture for your family then go to Sydney. At the end of the day you have to decide if the lifestyle change you want will outweigh what you have in the UK.
