We are hoping to be ready to book flights for the end of November, beginning of December.

My B-i-L is buying our house, but he is currently living in Thailand. It has been a real problem waiting for paperwork to be sent back and forth. I really thought that with only us and him in the chain it would be quick. At the moment he has his mortgage agreed but we are waiting to hear if his solicitor has any outstanding enquiries.

We really wanted to be in Oz before the kids break up for their Xmas/Summer holidays so that our youngest could have started school and met some friends. But Xmas is fast approaching and we are still here. Also I have to give a months notice, but don't want to give it just yet if there are any outstanding problems. That again is pushing our leaving date further away.

Still, I suppose as long as we get to OZ by our validation date in February!

Yup, we're off too 4 weeks today !! We go from Birmingham on 28th and arrive at 01.15 on 30th November. We have our new aussie mobile set up, so it might be nice to contact each other, seeing as though we are arriving same day ! PM me if you want. Whereabouts are you settling in Melbourne ? We are headed for around Mentone area, which is on the coast in the south east. Good luck anyway :D :D :beer:

We leave in the next two weeks for East Cost. Soooo excited. Have said goodbye to one set of family, very upsetting but hope it won't be to long before they come out and visit us. Only two sets of family left to visit (complicated family background - don't ask).

We're leaving next week, 11th of Nov' :scared:

We're heading for Geelong not sure yet if we'll settle there, could also be either Mt Eliza & Mt Martha.

We are leaving on 20th Nov. Got 2.5 wks left at work...Flying Via L.A and Auckland then onto Brissie for 1st Dec.....

We head off from Heathrow on Friday, 4 days rest in Singapore, arrive in Perth 16th November. :D

Hi, we leave for melbourne on 24th November from Heathrow 11am flight with singapore airlines. That's 2 WEEKS TODAY!!! Packers coming 18th, dog flying before us as well. I am so organised I can't believe it - usually quite a scatty person. We sold our house and rented 8 months ago so when our visa finally came through we could book our flights and leave immediately.

I live, eat , breathe Australia. Never had such a good social life like I've had in the last month. Every friend you know wants to take you out for a farewell meal! Who am I to complain. Got our farewell party this saturday which will be sad!

My mum and sister insisted on coming to the airport which I didn't want. It's going to be chaos enough without trying to keep an eye on the kids through puffy eyes filled with tears. Trying to stay cold about it all but no doubt I'll blubber at some point. Still can't wait to go though!

Told my family we are flying the day after we actually do. Will ring and say goodbye from departures. They can moan all they like but no damn way am I having everyone crying when all we are doing is moving to the other side of the world :rolleyes:

fly to melbourne on the 24 nov. self employed but have had to fire myself!!! couldnt think of anything but sun sea stubbies

We're leaving on the 16th too!! Who are you flying with, from where and what time?

We're going from Heathrow via Cathay on the 10pm flight with three kids under 9 :scared:
