Scenically stunning.
Some bits (closest to Sydney) are expensive. Some bits are boring suburbia-by-the-sea.
The area is high-growth. A lot of young families who cannot afford Sydney move there and there are quite a few retirees. There's practically no industry so unless you're a tradesman/teacher/nurse and can work locally you have to travel to Sydney to work and it's a LONG commute.
I'd rather live there than in the western suburbs of Sydney, though.

thanks alot, when you say retirees , do you mean its a little like bournemouth or southport in the UK?
I see alot of cheapo relocateable homes, are these seen as cool or scally or just plain normal, or are tey mainly retirement villages that these relocateable homes are on.
If any, what are the minus's about having one of these tyupe of home, is it classed as the lower end of society or not.
any advice taken and thanked in advance

what areas around there are good to live for a youngish couple no kids, wanting a few bars and cafes restaurants and a bit of life. Not bothered about commute as im a tradie and the missus has independant means.
We want somewhere with a nice beach (bay preferably) horseshoey shape, a few rocky outcrags and a bit of greenery or alot if thats the case and above mentioned sort of place, a village or bigger, nothing rural as though.
thanks

As for your 'horseshoe bay' - can't help there. I don't live on the Central Coast but can't think of any ocean-side beaches that are horseshoe shaped. Maybe someone that lives there might know of one.
Killcare Beach is nice:
