I have a 3 year old in day care it costs me $75 per day this includes lunch and snacks. you are entitled to 50% of the fees back which can be claimed immediately or as a rebate every quarter (as far as im aware this is not means tested). On top of the rebate you are entitled to a certain percentage of child care benefit (means tested) which is based on family income. If you have a rough idea of how much you will be earning google centrelink family assistance calculators and you can find out how much assistance you are entitled to.
