Talking Anyone flying to Brisbane tonight from Manchester

Well, the day has finally arrived. After a little over 2 years since we set about the whole emigration process, we finally get to start living the dream. Flying out from Manchester this evening to Brisbane via Kuala Lumpur.
Woke up early as the excitement was too great to worry about sleeping.
But we still have the farewell situation to go through, and not looking forward to it.
Is there anyone else flying out to brissy from manchester today?

Neil.

Hi Claire,
After a lot of deliberating, our dogs finally went to par Air. Its a long story, centred around us selling the house and the dogs not being able to move into temporary accomodation. They went to Par Air 2 weeks ago now, and fly out on the 13th September. Its a hell of a long wait until we get them back.

Sounds like you're flying malaysian airways like us in a couple of weeks, just wonderin if you got extra luggage allowance + if u paid excess baggage at the airport?

We've tried getting them to up our baggage allowance but they've said no, just interested as hubby wants to take as many tools as he can!!

Have a great day and all the best for your new life in OZ!!

Hi Sherie,
Sorry to disappoint, but malaysian airlines wont budge an inch on extra baggage. I have flown a lot of tools out with a company called excess baggage. You can fly 80kg out for around £300. Alot cheaper than paying for excess on the flight. With malaysia its about £31 per kilo. Drop me a p.m if you want the contact details for excess baggage.

Have a good trip and take the farewells in your stride, remember communication channels of today are fantastic due to the internet, mobile phones etc. They can be very reassuring.

Cheers

Hi Neil
Sorry to hear the problems you have had with your dogs, if there is one consulation atleast they are together and with all the sorting out you are going to have when you arrive hopefully the time will fly by!
My thoughts are with you this evening when saying your farewells have a safe trip once again!

Claire
