Default Anyone building with Coral Homes in SEQLD?

Looks like they've gone under. No news out at the mo but a friend of hubby's turned up at one of their houses to finish off the air con and was told not to bother and to go home.

Hope there's no one using them at the moment.

They have a display home set up here in North Lakes and are always advertising in Courier Mail. Bit of a shock that one! Will people always be covered by that insurance you have to take out,not that it makes up for all the upset and delay it causes. Shame for all the workers too.

No idea. Hubby's mate only turned up for the job at about 3. The guys were leaving the site with all their stuff.

Mr Coral Homes lives down the road from us. He's just finished building a mega house. Wonder if he's covered?

On 25 May 2009 BSA immediately suspended the licence of the above company. BSA would like to advise that the suspension of the above licensee in NO WAY AFFECTS THE LICENCE OF CORAL HOMES PTY LTD (Licence No: 50792) or CORAL HOMES (QLD) PTY LTD (Licence No: 1014053).

Coral Homes Pty Ltd and Coral Homes (Qld) Pty Ltd are in no way associated with Coral Coast Homes.

Oooh? Don't think so. From memory I think it's Coral Homes (Qld) Pty Ltd. Can't ask him what knows. He's asleep

>>>>This is the note I found from another forum<<
Hi there everyone. My name is Glenn Kennedy - Marketing Manager of Coral Homes. There has been significant media attention given recently to a small Bundaberg based builder called “Coral Coast Homes”, who has recently ceased trading and had its licence withdrawn by the Building Services Authority.

Please note that Coral Homes (Coral Homes Pty Ltd and Coral Homes Qld Pty Ltd) are in no way associated with this Bundaberg based builder, nor has there ever been an association in the past.

Due to an unfortunate similarity in company names only, there seems to be a level of confusion between Coral Homes and “Coral Coast Homes” in the marketplace. Fortunately, this is the only similarity between the companies.

Based on the Gold Coast since 1990, Coral Homes is the largest home builder in Queensland, and one of the top 10 largest home builders in Australia, with a building area and display home network spanning from Bundaberg to Sydney. Furthermore we are very proud to be part of the greater Bundaberg community with a display home in Bargara Views, Bargara.

Coral Homes is continually striving to develop and refine ever more clever, simple ways to build affordable family homes. With thousands of success stories and a solid reputation built on the trust of our clients, it’s easy to see why today we are one of the most well respected and financially strong home builders in Australia.

If anyone has any further questions on this matter please contact Coral Homes' head office on 07 5585 2644.

OK. They must have continued work on homes until today, that's why I thought it was the other one. Still hope no one here is using them. Thanks for clearing that up.

Better for a smaller firm to go under than a larger one, just because of the amount of people it would impact on but wouldn't you think they would have made an effort to make the names more diff. or was it a case of the smaller firm trying to cash in on the bigger firms name?
