Haven't got one meself, but my Dad loves his bike (Triumph Speed Triple!) He's isn't member of a club, ,but he takes off towards Montville (Sunshine Coast Hinterland) when he gets chance.
A bit off the subject, but, did you get your dogs sorted?

Re: Anyone in Brisbane got a Motorbike?
Hiya,
I can answer this one! I own a Suzuki SV650S and when I got here I hooked up with the Brisbane Bikers. They aren't a 'club' as such - no membership fee or anything, but there is an excellent website www.brisbanebikers.com where they list all of their rideouts, etc. I've been for a number of rideouts with these guys and they have all been GREAT! Anything from a dozen riders up to 40 or 50!
The rides aren't a formal thing, as in every weekend etc., but whenever someone is going for a ride, or if they figure its time for the gang to get together again, they'll post the info online and if you want to go - you just turn up. Everybody is incredibly friendly and very helpful. The rides are usually on the best roads because its the locals that lead them. They cater for all levels of riders too - the fast blokes lead the way, and any slower types (i.e. me) catches up at the next intersection. They usually have someone riding at the back of the group who knows where we are going too, so getting lost is unlikely.
And - if you just want to meet some folk to be social, there are usually some of the members at the Milton Coffee Club nearly every Friday evening getting together for the hell of it.
Their website is also a great place to find out about the best deals in town, what's going on on the bike scene, hints, tips, advice, etc. etc. Really awesome!
I wont be riding for a few months (baby due in January) but I will be out there again eventually. Maybe I'll see you out there! My Brisbane Bikers nickname is 'SVBritGirl'
Cheers!

Re: Anyone in Brisbane got a Motorbike?
I'm up at the Coffee Club in Milton every friday night. another good turn out tonight with around 40-50 bikes.
I ride with www.qmrf.com.... best club IMO . bit like BB (more than a few QMRF members are BB members as well) - no fees, plenty of different bikes and riders, friendliest bunch of folks ever. there's a ride (sometimes two) just about every weekend, some for a couple of hours, some for the whole day. There's no pressure on anyone to keep up, all corners are marked, and there's always a tale end charlie.
will put my neck on the line and say unless you seriously want to ride at break neck speed and don't mind about safety, avoid a club called "weekend riders" (also based in brisbane/SE QLD). went on a ride a couple of times - not pleasant, and a couple of months ago (on their last big ride) they had 4 riders go down in high speed crashes.
Other clubs in the area are specialist brand clubs SV's, Busas, ducafés, cruisers etc. there's also Oz Sporst Bikes (v v fast rides), and overclockers MC....... and there's always the Bandidos (one brisbane club house is on Norman Street in Woolloongabba, just round the corner from me!).
Best bet is to find a ride going out with the different clubs, and see which ones suit you best.
