Completely, and I mean completely lacking motivation at work - can't concentrate, can't be bothered doing anything, spend too much time checking BE/looking at where to live/booking trips (I kid you not) - just want to go NOW!!!!!

The wait is killing me.... Anybody else in the same boat???

But as no-one at work is even aware I am going I have to try and appear focused, especially as it's appraisal time soon and I would like a good bonus in December just before I tell them I'm going :)

Im in that same boat as you except I have 18 working days till I hand in my notice - and I tell you I CANT WAIT!! - I cant wait to go and I cant wait until I see the look on everyone elses face when I tell that what I have been planning for the last few years! SHOCK will be an understatement.. I work with people that have been sitting at the same desk for the last 15+ years and they all talk about leaving but never do and they joke that they see me doing the same as them....yer right that scares the living daylights out of me :scared: but until then i can smile and that thought that I know something you dont know - im not going to be sitting here in 15 years, im not even going to be sitting here in 2 months time (WOW that sounds great!!) but until then my only motivation here at work is looking through BE and catching up with all the latest and knowing that there are others that have seen the light and are making a better life for themselves - congratulations and best of luck!!! :)

Another no Motivation job here!!

meds just done so awaiting Visas but they could still do an employment check (they actually requested I sen my contracts and tax statements from 2002 and last year to verify) but still they could visit the company as I'm a contractor it makes things a little more complicated.

Need to try to remain focused and keep learning everyday as it will just be the same over there with sun.

People are motivated at work?

A colleague and I have a running gag - every so often one or other of us will just drop a "Found any?" into the conversation. We never have of course...

We got our PR in Jan 2004, decided to stay here while my wife did her nurse training (mental health) which she completes next march.

So I've had nearly 3 years of no motivation ! welcome to the club !

Things is, she's already fixed up with a job over there (Cairns) as soon as she finishes her training whereas at the moment I haven't !

Well we decided to get the ball rolling almost 2 years ago now and YES I have been absolutely not interested in my career here as why bother? Its sooo hard to motivate myself.

Brilliant - no need to motivate yourself ever again, just be a kept man!

It has been mentioned ! I don't she'd earn enough to keep us in the manner to which we have become accustomed though !

Re: Anybody else completely lacking motivation at work??

We had our request for meds back in Feb, and the plan was to go the start of next year (subject to meds, fingers crossed) but we found out we're expecting our first baby this November so they're on hold until the new year, along with the move which we're looking to do next November.

I made the mistake of telling a few people at work a while back what I had planned, and virtually everyday it's "When are you going? Why are you still here? etc etc". It's doing my nut having to give the same answers that I gave only 5 minutes ago.

As for work itself, I really just don't care anymore. My minds so set on next year, the baby, the things we need to get done before we go, and all the plans that go round in my head that work is on the back-burner even when I'm there. My body maybe there, but my head is off in the clouds.... lmao

I completely understand dave what you are saying. I used to be a trade, but am not now. I wish I was though as I know you can bluff it and just be there in body and get by.

Now I am a consultant and self employed and my job is building relationships for future business etc etc.....Future business? WTF?

Thats why I find it so hard at the mo.

Not even at the point of applying for visa, will probably end up doing same job for the next 2 years and have no motivation for it, but pays well so will stick it out. Hate to think what I'll be like when waiting for visa :D
