Anybody been attacked by any birds lately

I have, 2 in one week, including a magpie that hit me on the shoulder when I was cycling through east Perth which then chased me for about 100m down the street. Hitchcock's films have got nothing on real life around here!

Not yet but living in hope the wife might not appreciate it especially the scantily clad type would't need to chase me for 10mtrs though i'd give in. ;) :D

We got attacked in Tamworth around this time of year by a magpie. Drew blood on my 4 year old's head.

Was told afterwards that Spring is common for this when they feel you're threatening their nests.

This behaviour usually goes on for only a few weeks though. Bloody annoying in the meantime....

Yes I have actually and it scared the sh!t out of me! :scared:

It was about 4 or 5 weeks ago when it happened. I was on my way to pick my children up from school and the buggers dive bombed me!

I go a different way to/from school now....

Not recently, but on Rottnest (Rotto, for any Australians reading ;) ) we did get 'pack bombed' by about 200 Turns as we walked down a beach. It was funny to start then they started getting really, REALLY close, so thought best to move on.

We were in Hervey bay in august. The biggest bloody crow I've ever seen swooped down and landed on my four year old sons head. He wouldn't let go.The poor kid carried on running across the beach, hitting his head as he ran .He was wearing an England cap and was obviously trying to nick it. The poor kid is now terrified of anything that flies now.If he's being naughty, hubby will shout 'there's that nasty crow' soon does the trick!!!!!!!!!!!

When we were in Adelaide one August I got attacked by a magpie. I had no idea that they did this and was so shocked and scared. As long as I stared at it, it didn't move but the minute I turned round it attacked my head again. Horrible things :(

Yesterday I was walking back from the beach and got attacked by a very noisey magpie. He kept swooping at me and just missing my face, followed me until I crossed the road - little s**t.

My husband reckons that they can recognise you for up to 3 months and will swoop you whenever they see you (even if you wear a hat). Not sure if he's winding me up.

There's one that sits in the same place as I pass him on the way to work, usually I just glare at him and he stays put, but a few times he has taken me by surprise. He looks nasty too. Luckily I got a good whack in once after he swooped me :D

Hi yes the first experience was my husband getting dive bombed by a magpie. It wasnt until a few occasions later we found out this is quite common and they go for the tallest thing.

I then took my son for a walk in the pram forgetting all about them. Was fine on the way to the shops but unexpectedly got attacked on the way back. It scared the life out of me as it would not give up :scared:

After that I drove down the road. Its a shame cause it was only a 10 min walk to the shops but I was too scared after that.

It funny we never seemed to get this problem where we lived in the UK although we had loads of magpies around.
