Really appreciate it. It would be nice to meet up for a spot of lunch and pick each others brains and offer a wee touch of support. Those wanting to get pished (Margaret and co! - only kidding) can do so and those who just want a blether then go for it. The Walkabout is fairly central but if there's anywhere else lets know.

Hi there,
The more the merrier. From what I can gather the majority of us think 28th January is best. As for venue that's still undecided. I'm not from Glasgow so not sure of good places where we can eat and have a natter. If you've any suggestions then please post. Thought lunch would be good that way if people need to get home then it's not too late.
Cheers

1/ Waxy O'Connors - I can highly recommend "Crock of Mussels" to anyone who likes mussels. Very reasonably priced good food and drinks, nice atmosphere too.
Address: 44 West George Street, Glasgow G2 1DH (Next to Carlton George Hotel, 2 minute walk to Queen St Station)
Phone: 0141 354 5154
2/ The Corinthian - great architecture but may seem gaudy to some! There are a few bars and a nice restaurant in the building. The Lite Bar on the ground floor is beautiful even for a non-drinker like me. I've only had dinners at the restaurant (very nice but a bit pricey unless you order set menu) and drinks at the Lite Bar. Not sure about lunch but they do serve lunch at the restaurant and the bars.
Address: 191 Ingram St, Glasgow G1 1DA (behind the old GPO building, corner of South Federick St/Ingram St, near George Square)
Phone: 0141 552 1101
3/ Gregg's!
While you're there, get me a dozen of their sausage rolls please! Who needs bars and restaurants when you've got Gregg's all over town?

Walkabout is great for a good value lunch with an Aussie theme and Aussie beers too. We used to go there for lunch regularly and always had a lovely meal with a nice atmosphere ( and if you are lucky some hunky Aussie bar staff ).
I have heard that it is not such a good place to be at night when the dancefloor opens and the clubbers start appearing but been there on a couple of occassions at night and not had any bother at all.
Anyway if you decide to go there enjoy yourselves and have a drink for us !!

Thanks for the comments. It seems that the clubbing starts about 8pm so it would get a busy then. But hopefully if we meet at lunch people might be a bit partied out by that time!
Cheers
