Any rugby teams in Perth (Union or League)?

Hi
Just wondered if anyone could give me a little info on the rugby situation in and around Perth. We are hopefully moving out end of 2005 with 3 teenagers. Our son 15 is a really keen rugby player (union) although interested in league and plays and trains with a local team in Liverpool. He is really excited about moving over as are the other two, but they are teenagers and change like the wind. We are trying to head off at the pass any problems with settling down over there.
Glynn is panicking about keeping his fav sport going over there.
Promised I would ask on the site for help.
We hopefully will be at first moving to the Ashfield area of Perth, but he will travel anywhere if it means a team to train with.
Thanks Nikki

There are many Rugby clubs in Perth. My son plays union down in Subiaco, but there are clubs all over with all ages.

Yeah, loads of clubs here, especially for kids. My nephews have played rugby in Perth since they were in nappies.

There is also a fairly strong rugby league movement in Perth (the 3rd strongest state in Oz for RL).
There are teams in:
Joondalup
North Beach/Trigg
Belmont/Midland
South Perth
Fremantle
Applecross
Willagee
Armadale and Rockingham.
For more info go to the Western Australia Rugby League site, they would gladly help your son get connected with a club nearest to you.
West Aus RL or email them [email protected]

no Glynn plays for Collegaite RUFC based in Aigburth Merseyside. He many years ago used to play for Pilkington Rex RLFC - ST Helens. So he has played both league and union, although his dad is more union lead. I am so pleased and so is he that the move to Perth will not hopefully affect his first love "rugby". Don't think he would move with us if it did.
Will use the email links provided cheers, nice to see football isn't everything in Oz. Mind you having said that we are from Liverpool so ofcourse we have to of the best foootie teams as well.
