sorry, can't help. i am a qs who works for a flooring contractor! intending to start my own business in brisbane when i have built a few contacts - maybe end up employing your mate!

If your mate does get any info I would like to know because a floor layer i know is considering migrating also. would imagine it's easier if they have city and guilds or equiv, otherwise i understand it can be a bit of a ballache getting your experience verified, how did you go on as a brickie?

Seem to have no problem going( as a brickie) i think there in demand got all my city and guilds got 120 points altogether!!!!

in my experience a lot of floor layers just learnt the trade on the job and have no paper qualification. would imagine it will be difficult to prove you are a skilled tradesmen in this situation.
