Give it a few weeks and you will be introduced to more.Come summer we dont go out till we are covered in fly spray. You get the hang of it.You spray around the outdoor table before you sit round it,spray your self and the kids.cover food up and put it back in esky /fridge asap.
yeah I spent 1 year on an island in the Bahamas and that had lots of flies as well as killer mossies and sand flies. once I fried some chicken and the flies got in my apt somehow and were swarming in there....it was like in that movie Amityville.

The more bush and uncleared forest a place have the more flies there are. Most capital cities would not have as many compared to regional area or the bush.

Tis true, I ate my first fly supper the day I moved into my house last October.
Mr PP and I were brutally mugged by a gang of flies on Rotto early this year. They had flick knives, leather jackets, smoked dope, had tarty fly girlfriends on their arms and road fly type motorbikes.
They are bastards. I remember laughing at people on Rotto wearing fly hats with nets on their faces, didnt take me long to figure out why and be jealous/desperate enough to want to mug them for it.
Aussie flies are ruthless, tough, street fighters and have an ability to get into your stomach without your consent.

I have never found out why but brisbane, GC and SC dont have the into your eyes, ears, nose flies that most of australia has. As G says go out to Toowoomba and they soon start to appear
Of course you get the flies around food but not those bush flies that come in swarms of thousands.
Worst encounter with flies this year was Kiama, an absolute beauty spot in NSW, couldnt find a BBQ anywhere then found one solitary bbq, whacked some food on and I am not kidding there were thousands of flies on us the food, we literally ran back to the campervan, flies in hot pursuit. Someone on here living near kiama cracked up that we attempted to cook food outside
Melb has bad spells too, lived there in winter, returned one summer and even in the city they were hell. WA - didnt expect it to be good but VV bad.
