They appear to be a good employer, if you get in with them they pay well, around the $200,000 - $250,000 total package, dependent on experience. They are based in Perth at the moment until they get the plant built, so expect many days working in an office. Probably will be a 2,2,2,4 Rosta when they mobilise.

bizkitgto, Inpex is one of the better payer as they make up for lack of other benefits. Furthermore, it depends on your discipline, whether you're to be Perth or Darwin based.
Whether they are a good employer depends on your nature of work sought and your direct line manager. Ie the work package maybe given to a service company and you're taken by that company to work on Ichthys project may be different working for them directly.
Turnover can be high on some disciplines and there are reasons, best taken offline.

Re: Any experience with Inpex?
Inpex is a Japan based company which has a project named Ichthys for bringing gas from an offshore field into Darwin where it will be liquified and shipped out to japan and other markets.
Design and construction of the pipeline and LNG plant has been contracted out to a company called JKC which is a joint venture between JGC (Japan), KBR (US) and Chiyoda Corporation (Japan). JKC have split the total job into smaller packages which have then been let to subcontractors.
So basically very few of the jobs available during the project will be with Inpex, particularly for tradies who will need to contact either JKC or their subcontractors.

This project is being done all over the world. There is a lot being done at the company I work for here in Perth and some of our guys are heading up to South Korea to work on it up there (it's been mentioned for me to go there too)
A lot of the engineering is being done in Paris and there is a big requirement for people to work there - loads of ads in the UK for it. Only EUR450 a day for 3D modellers but tax free - bazinga!
