any advice would be great
Hi all & happy new year,
My husband applied for a 136 visa he is an metal engineer on skills in demand we recived an email today from our visa agents (OE VISAS) saying that DIMIA have requested the medicals which were already booked for the 25th of Jan & police checks which are getting done on Monday.
We would like to know how long it takes from DIMIA reciveing the above to us being granted a visa, any ideas????????????
Any help would be great, Can people please put there timelines on here this would help lots.

Our police checks and meds were requested on Feb 28 2004 and we received the pre-grant letter on May 14 2004 (10 months and 18 days aftr lodging the application). That's a 136 visa also, but cannae remember the ASCO code.

Afterthought: but then there's the whole July thing ... so, aye, I'd check the ohter forum for more up to date info, if I were you.

We applied for skilled independent 136 visas and were both on the MODL list. Medicals sent 23rd Nov-04. Police checks and other documentation sent mid Dec-04. Visas granted 4th Jan-05 (and that's with Xmas and New Year break!)
If all is well with your checks, hopefully you won't have long to wait
