Default Anti-social neighbours.

Question from Jaykay's other half.

Currently seeking our new home and was wondering.

Is a home seller in Australia obliged to tell us if there has been any problems with neighbours. What about if we ask directly?
Is this something we can request is put into a contract of sale/purchase?

Thanks for any comments.

Nick.

Always visit several different times of the day to see what is going on before agreeing to rent or buy. Talk to your prospective neighbours.

Hi Nick,

I would try the local Police Station, ask if there have been any reports of neighbour disputes or unrest in the locality of where you wish to buy and ask about the other issues such as crime etc. Its better to find out now than wish you had later when its too late.

Andy, fellow house husband on the other side of the globe, but hey, only 30 days till we touchdown in Melbourne.

Hi Andy, a fellow blue I see. Find out where the city games are shown in Melbourne and hopefully in 6 months time I'll buy you a beer while watching the blue army climb the table.

Has it occured to you that the sellers, might be the main problem, and if you went next door to ask, they will have a whole bunch of stories to tell ya?
