seeing the rain and overcast day made me think - need to get out!!!! it will be like this all winter!!

It's cold here today. Tried a few times to do my usual beach walk for the dog but I couldn't hack it. Three was a icy westerly wind in my face. Very unpleasant. Out of the wind it was nice though.
My heating's been on in the evenings since I got here in May.

We have heating on here every night. !! When sun goes in the temperature drops so quick. So dont forget to bring your thermals with you.
Wouldnt be so bad if there was somthing on TV, off to Burswood tonight to watch an Elvis show.

We seem to get really good weather up here thankfully. It's not cold enough yet to put the heating on though my friend wrote this email to me from S Africa
"Bit of a shock to the system the weather, really cold with shock horror a
wee bit of snow, gave the Capetonians something to talk about as they have
never see it before. It is really horrible when it is cold here as my one
fan heater struggles to get the inside of the house over 10oc, so Alex and I
have been dressed for outdoors going to bed and wander around the house in
duvets, oh for central heating"
So I think I have learned remember my Scottish thermals for winter mornings and nights as I always feel the cold

summer has actually been quite poor this year
june and july were very wet and quite cold (hence no mention of hose pipe bans)
we only had about 2 weeks of exceptional weather hot AND dry
(which is why people will always look back on 03 as a fantastic summer)
but on the whole if it was 'averaged out' it would probably be near normal..
and yes i arrived home to find the heating on -back door wide open mind..:-/
cheers

Well at the moment the weather here in South Wales is beautiful - warm and sunny , though not quite as hot as it has been these past few weeks. We did have a huge downpour the night before last when apparently 15mm of rain fell. But they reckon thst August has been one of the driest on record
