I do think PB posts alot of crap, but i have recently taken to not bothering with a reply. 9 times out of 10 he is not worth the time it takes for me to type one. If noone replies to the trolls, the trolls don't win. You obviously don't agree with PB. So put him on ignore and don't reply. If you do feel the need to respond to him, don't do it on SOMEONE ELSES thread, unless that is, you are going add somthing contructive. There is no way PB is going to stop trolling, not while there are so many fish for him to reel in..... |

Thanks Pollyana You are lucky to be down the line and be on your way and its not just the usual that ruin everything, we have some new people now coming in and ruining the posts for everyone. I am going to Perth and have been before a few times, PB doesn't ruin it for me as I do understand some of his points - I prefer to hear the truth from people and he usually backs his argument up with facts, still I am still going to Perth and feeling positive. What I don't like is people who don't live there and have limited views preaching how others should speak on this forum, let them have their say please and don't knock those who were in our position some years ago - it doesn't work for everyone but don't knock either country. We are lucky enough in both countries to have freedom of speech, but lets have some lighthearted threads for a change. |

The threads have usually been ruined by the time I get involved but if you want to blame me then thats your choice but it seems that you will waste time argueing with me and leave them alone, maybe I'm an easier target. They wont stop, BULLIES dont stop if you ignore them, it makes them worse, you have to stand up to them !!!!!!!! |

I'm sure you don't really want that, listen to everyone, sure in everyday you won't agree with everyone but when you get too Australia, they will give you a hard time too (in a banter way) so be prepared, the ozzies love to rib the poms......luckily enough we have alot of ozzie and english friends living there and are used to it. ellen, I don't wish to knock there is one more thing - which noone has mentioned ...for what it's worth the whole pont of PMs is that they are private and that its a breach of etiquette to publish them....however annoying they are??!!!! just a thought..most people Pming however angry or annoying are often trying to "communicate" or resolve something..without the idiots all jumping on.. cheers Badgers ps i'm corrected - it was an email not a PM but nonetheless private..not that i'm that bothered about the whole episode just thought it was worth a point.. |

Banter is banter, I work on building sites I know what banter is people will only push it so far if they think they might get a smack in the mouth. A bit of ribbing is ok there is no control on this forum, some people go too far , people hide behind the anonimity of the internet. |
I have bitten my tongue on many occassions when I have read some of the threads which 'have been' hijacked by PB, Dotty etc. I say 'hijacked' because of the nasty jibes they make at the rest of us not already in Australia. I take offence to being referred to as a refugee, an idiot, a dreamer with rose tinted glasses etc. etc.. I like most on this forum am very interested in hearing the negatives with the positives but it would be nice if the personal abuse was left out.
Personally I have tried to ignore the abusive minority but am finding it increasingly difficult. I have to admit that when someone like Stoney stands up to these people I want to cheer him on and Ellen1 I echoed your response to yet another nasty jibe made by Dotty referring to 'idiots on this site'. There, I've said it and I haven't hijacked anyone's thread! |
badgers it was actually an email and as soon as you press the send button it is not private anymore.
may be if people think about how they put things, like you would in an ordinary conversation, I'm sure Dotty and co. wouldnt talk to someone in the pub like they talk to people on here in case they offended them. why do it on here, it was a rude email and any etiquette went out of the window with manners. Ignoring them wont stop them. What about all the people leaving the forum and those who read but dont post because of the trolls you are ignoring them too. As long as the trolls are here so will people like me, ignore me if you like. |

Pollyanna, This is already happening, I have had emails and PM's from people who will no longer or in fact never have posted in case of ridicule, these are people who are trying for Visa's and people living in Oz who's valuable information is now limited to the few. there are people leaving every week so soon it will just be trolls on here backslapping each other. Also I think you'll find that they Stoney and Ellen1 were responding to a post already 'hijacked' by Dotty in this case. As already mentioned in my previous post I am interested in positive AND negative content but I am not open to abuse and what makes you assume that I believe Australia is fluffy? Get off your pedestal! you obviously didn't read my post, I wasn't having a go at anyone in particular, I just believe we can all have our say, and I enjoy reading everyones point of view but the post wasn't hijacked by Dotty on this occasion, maybe we thought she would but wrong........(wish I'd never said anything now!) what pedestal are you on about, think that is unnecessary insults and to Stoney too, not having a go but read a few other posts Dotty has been on, they are useful, again, not having a personal attack, I have no idea who you are and likewise, this is getting out of hand and if you want to carry on throwing insults at me, so be it, your freedom to do so!
