all together - learn the words
Australians all let us rejoice for we are young and free;
We've golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature's gifts of beauty rich and rare;
In hist'ry's page let every stage
Advance Australia fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing, Advance Australia Fair.
Beneath our radiant southern cross we'll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this common wealth of ours renowned of all the lands;
For those who've come across the seas
We've boundless plains to share;
With courage let us all combine to Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains and let us sing, Advance Australia Fair.
sorry about no tune!!!!

Re: all together - learn the words
Most Aussies hate this crap song , they will tell the real tune for Australians is Waltzing Matida so try this , god you lot are naive.
Oh, there once was a swagman camped in the billabong,
Under the shade of a coolibah tree,
And he sang as he looked at the old billy boiling,
Who'll come a-waltzing Matilda with me?
Chorus
Who'll come a-waltzing Matilda my darling,
Who'll come a-waltzing Matilda with me?
Waltzing Matilda and leading a waterbag,
Who'll come a-waltzing Matilda with me?
Down came the jumbuck to drink at the water-hole,
Up jumped the swagman and grabbed him with glee,
And he sang as he put him away in his tucker-bag,
You'll come a-waltzing Matilda with me.
Up came the Squatter a-ridding his thoroughbred,
Up came Policemen - one, two and three,
Whose is that jumbuck you've got in the tucker-bag,
You'll come a-waltzing Matilda with me.
The swagman he up and he jumped in the water-hole,
Drowning himself by the coolibah tree,
And his ghost may be heard as it sings by the billabong,
Who'll come a-waltzing Matilda with me?

Thats good the immigrants are learning it. Supposedly 90% of aussies have not got a clue what the words are.
Most school kids it seemed thought the words were something about ostriches. Probably something to do with the terrible accent. Still ostriches do bury their heads in the sand. Most also thought it was a terrible song and should be changed.
Hardly got the same stirring soul of the star spangled banner.

I find it only slightly less outdated than Gawd Save 'er Right Royal 'eyeness.
It depicts the attitude of the mid 1900's. Everything boundless, rip into it, populate it, turn it into flash cash to show orf overseas.

I thought when you went for Citizenship you had to sing the anthem? If so many don't know it how do they cope?:scared:
