Re: Aldi's in OZ
Glad the one in Melbounre can sell booze on the shelves because that is where we are headed!
Have checked their website and it lists it online in the Melbourne store, some of the items are even the same as the UK - woohoo!! |
Re: Aldi's in OZ
Aldis rocks - shopped there in the UK, shop there in Oz. Have bought a few larger items from them which have proved to be excellent - particularly an air compressor which is of very high quality. :)

Re: Aldi's in OZ
Me too. I've been amazed at their quality and I like the special offer zones they have for their large items. I've picked up a few bargains:thumbsup:
They don't have a massive range in food but what they do have is usually tasty, well presented and far cheaper than Coles /Wollies. I prefer to "sponsor" a shop that doesn't rip it's customers off and only go to the big supermarkets for the stuff Aldi don't sell:thumbup: |

we have them here in NSW. i couldnt wait for our local one to open, as the one we used to go to, by the time fuel was taken into in, didnt really work out as cheaper (unless you were passing).
one note, they dont sell alcohol!!! Both wines and spirits and beers. Yes cheap as always in Aldi, its great to have cheaper shopping again!:D |
Re: Aldi's in OZ
And I thought I was a bit odd being chuffed that they have Ikeas here in Oz.. this thread makes me a feel a bit normal about that now!

Re: Aldi's in OZ
Ikea..ha ha...some of my pom friends in NZ crave Ikea.
My no1 son was thinking I was going potty in Jan on holiday in Brisbane as we were spending all our time in Aldi, because we could! Now we live here in ACT and Aldi is a 5 min walk away.:eek: No, you're not mad.:D |

Don't know about you but we live in scotland and love to shop at Aldi's, i didn't realise there were Aldi's in Oz until we checked the net today...its great news as its something we don't need to miss.
Has anyone been to an Aldi's in Oz?? Do they sell the same products? |
Re: Aldi's in OZ
On the Nappy front
Huggies are well expensive in Oz. We used to bulk buy at Costco in UK so were shocked into buying cheaper brands in Oz. Mamma Nappies from Aldi are fine and dandy!! (Warning alcohol induced!) |
Re: Aldi's in OZ
Aldi in Melbourne too is great - meat is cheap and processed food (I know it's not healthy but ...) like chicken nuggets, pork sausages and beefburgers taste like they did back home.
The fruit and vegetables are much cheaper too but they don't tend to have a long shelf life with fruit rotting quite quickly. Shame they took the jammy devils off the shelves. |
