Air-Conditioning Installation

Air-Conditioning Installation
A friend of mine has been quoted $10k for the installation of a Fujitsu 7 zoned, reverse-cycle, ducted, air conditioning system at the low-set house where he has been living for over 2 years.
In comparison, I have been quoted $15k for a Daikin 18kw (8hp) Super Inverter Reverse Cycle Ducted air conditioning system with 3 phase power as part of a new build (lowset)
Can it be possible that it is cheaper to have the system fitted after the build is complete as opposed to during the build? It seems the wrong way round to me.
Also, what specific features etc should I look for/compare?
Thanks

Hi TicTac
Daikins are more expensive than Fujitsu and the 15k you have been quoted is consistent with what we have been quoted for a similar. Cheapest equivalent Fujitsu I could get though was 13k. Who quoted your friend? ... I might be interested too
