Default Agent or not!!!!

Have just got of the phone to an agent who told us we can go on a 457 visa. Now, although I have spoke to him a couple of times I didn't ask the most important question till today (yes i know i should have, but being told we can go to Oz over shadowed everything else).
I have been told it will cost around £4000

I am sure I have read others on here say around £2000. Whats the average?

Shall I use an agent or contact companies myself for sponsorship?

If the £4000 includes the application fee, medicals and all the rest then it's not too bad, but you'll probably find cheaper ones if you shop around. Ours application cost about £3,500 all told.

Can't really say if you should have one or go it alone, as it depends on how confident you are doing it yourself, if you have a straight forward case or not and lots of other things as well.

Contact Grahaem Igglesden at Concept Australia.

You can pay your fees in stages with them - took us exactly 3 months to get our Visa too !

Good luck with everything...

To use an agent or not is one of the big questions to answer in the migration process. Personally I would rather have the agent's fee myself and I would say do it yourself IF:

You can devote the time to finding information, filling in forms etc.
You have an internet connection, have a modicum of intelligence and can ask questions and use search in forums such as this.
Your case isn't too complicated requiring the agent's specialist knowledge - there's bound to be people on here who have similar circumstances to you though.

If you don't have the time, don't have the patience, can't be bothered asking questions and filling in forms and searching for information and can afford the agents fee or have a really complicated set of circumstances then I'd say use an agent by all means.

Good luck!
