Default Advice re taking Scaffolding to Australia

Hi Everyone..!

Hope someone can advise us.........? Hubby's a carpenter and we're off (finally!!) to live on the Sunshine Coast this Autumn. Brrr-ing it onnnn!!!

He's wondering about taking his industrial scaffolding with him, which cost over £200, and would come in handy for his work (not to mention cleaning the windows on our new 2 storey house haha!). However, he's worried about it being quarantined on arrival and perhaps causing holdups to our container @ that end.

(Im just wondering how the heck do you thoroughly clean hollow h-shaped metal tubes!!????? spider alert or what??).

The removal Co's havent been much cop on the advice front, so wonder if any of you out there have taken scaffolding and/or had any problems with customs/fumigation..

It'll help us decide whether to get the hosepipe on the blasted things, or to get it sold on good old ebay before we leave....

Thanks guys!

Its not often we get an original question, but I don't think I've ever seen this one before!
Can't help you, but at least the reply gets you to the top of the forum again!

Like Pol says it's a new one alright To be honest I wouldn't see a problem bringing it in - they're not going to be worried about a few spiders that's for sure. It's organic matter that's a problem so I'd squirt the hose pipe up there, pour some Jeyes fluid down, give it all a squirt with WD40, let it dry thoroughly and it'll be fine. If you're going to need it over here and you have it there, bring it.
