Got a recordable sony dvd player and just wondered whether this would play down under. Any help appreciated.

no it may not play as it will be set to play uk region disk only

do search on the internet for unlock codes for you dvd modle number follow the instructions and you should be able to play the dvd's down under have done my philips dvd which we will take with us

no probs with electrical goods in oz they use 240v 50hz supply just the same as ours
only thing is you will need a raft of plug adaptors

the only items you could have problems with is a UK TV
as in aus they use Pal G which is a different scan rate
but you can get round this by buying a digi box in aus
