advice on medicals...

Our main application should be sent in two weeks and would like some general info on having our medicals done, such as how quick can you get an appointment? Do you book it through your g.p? How quick do you get your results to send to Adelaide?
Cheers.

You need to use one of the panel docters listed on the paperwork DIMIA sent through.
Theres several in london, one at gatwick and one in dover i believe.
I used one in london, they did the xray too, and i managed to get an appointment within a week. Total cost was 170 pounds for me alone.

We only had two panel doctors within a reasonable distance. One was a GP with separate X-ray elsewhere; the other was a Nuffield (private) hospital with its own screening service and own X-ray.
The GP couldn't do us for a month; the Nuffield fitted us in the next week. Cost was about the same. The medicals themselves were efficient and freindly/reassuring.
The doc sent the forms off for us, and charged an extra £10 for the courier. They arrived safely in Oz. Police checks were much more hassle, but that's another story.

Have posted bond for extra 5 pts, and get very positive email from case officer saying that he'd grant the visa once he'd got the paperwork. Hope to validate late July. Good luck with your meds.
