Hi!
Does anyone know the easiest way to find somewhere to rent in Adelaide?
I'd be looking for a furnished place suitable for one person (me!) for at least 6 months starting September 2009.
Anyone know any good websites to check?
Also, does not having an Aussie bank account matter when it comes to rentals there? Would I need anything - documents or something?
I'll be going over on a WHV and don't want to spent months in hostels.
Thanks for any help xxx

What about a holiday cabin or sited caravan? Some of the parks are really good, I hear, and cheaper than a flat! You can set up an Aussie bank account from the UK. Commonwealth and Westpac for certain. Don't know about the others!

furnished rentals in adelaide are pretty hard to come by and arnt usually cheap ... you can try looking at holiday type accommodation but that is generally going to be more expensive again.
try realestate.com.au for rentals ... they also have a section on holiday rentals and also shared accommodation ... but it is worth also noting that rentals move pretty fast when they come onto the market so the best way to find them is to be on the spot and talking to the agents rather than applying through the websites.
After saying all of that i know of at least one couple who found and arranged a 6 month furnished rental at a really good price before they left the uk so it can be done

There are furnished units for one person available and rooms in inner city hotels but there not always very classy. There are also caravan parks with self contained cabins and whilst not very cheap are the best place to start.
Finding accomodation can be very hard as its very competitive. Have a good sleep when you get here and make it your priority to fund somewhere more permanent.
David.
