Don't know about the hottest - but it's famous for having those extended periods (7+ days) of heatwaves.
Probably makes you feel pretty hot if there's no relief for days on end....

37°C tomorrow. I'll start work at 8 to try and avoid the worst of it.

Re: Is Adelaide the hottest city
The news I saw said 42c tomorrow. It certainly feels like the hottest city!
Whenever the weather is on, it does SEEM to be hotter, and with less rain. When Sydney and Melbourne are rainy and dull in winter we seem to get much more sunny weather. Even with it being so hot, I wouldn't want to leave (but by tomorrow afternoon when I have been working in it all day I may change my mind lol).

l think l read somehwere becasue Adelaide is down in a valley surrounded by the hills and the ocean all the hot air is stuck there which is why its hotter then say nearby VIctor Harbour or up in the Adelaide hills.

LOl well I think it went down to 4 degrees one early morning this winter... we put the heaters on... as you do. The days are usually warm and sunny in winter about 12 to 20 degrees. We often go to the beach. This winter was particularly wet so we had to wear raincoats but we didn't need coats in the day apart from that. Compare and contrast to UK winters.

Its is certainly stupidly hot at times....a week of 45 or so means you can do absolutely nothing basically...even the pools are too hot! you have to experience it to understand, as a friend visiting from England described it
"Its like being blowtorched in the face as soon as you go outside!"
Not good, and very bad for you!
but yeah it is chilly in winter too....

Even those neighbours begone plants stressed right out.
Only plants that seemed to handle it were my Canary Island Date palms.
I think I need to install a retractable ? shade sail over the whole of my Back Garden.
