Adelaide looks to have a really nice climate...not too hot and humid...
and from what I can gather its a bit quieter and more laid back than some of the other cities...

Not too hot??!!! You do realise it can get into the mid 40s in summer? Statistical temperatures are taken in the shade. I have been there when my car outside temp gauge had a reading of 48 degrees! :scared:

We are also off to Adelaide next year (If we sell our house
)
To be honest we first chose it as it was there or MEL but after spending time there last year totally fell in love with it. It is a very well planned/laid out city with loads of green space. It just has a lovely feel to it and we felt very at home there. Add in good house prices/schools and its a winner all round.

Id say, if you come with the preconception that Adelaide will be like the Oz you see on the telly ( you know those dreaded moving programs)... then i would think again.
Adelaide is a nice (small) city, But it doesnt have the WOW factor of the others...but is very pretty & clean. Beaches are nice white sand, but again not as rugged as Perths ( i like the surfy beaches).
The house prices arent as cheap as they were, and some of the coastal areas, are very expensive.. it is up n coming! so we thought we'd get in there..buy & try for a couple of years.
I gotta say i have been disspointed with the weather. It can get rather cold in the winter, and it has taken until now to heat up properly.
The Adelaide hills are luvly, Wine regions are a bonus!! I personally sit on the fence (as im struggling with the slower pace)
but most people with families would really like it! My other half luvvs it! Infact most people i know really do like it!

We are going in 2006, once our house has been sold.
A bloke that I worked with, went 2 years ago and loves it.
