HI,
Got the go ahead for migration under Skilled Migration State sponsored scheme thingy. Can go to various places in OZ or NZ and cant make up our mind where to start researching. Adelaide is on the list and seems to appeal for some reason. Can anyone tell me good and bad points about the place.
I know about crime rates etc :scared: but need some advice on areas that are family oriantated to live, schools etc What its like compared to ther cities in OZ, you know the sort of stuff!
Thanks for your time guys and girls

To reply to your question Diddy,
We have enough points to go to either country as my job is on the skills list for both. We havent actually been accepted for any, but have been told that either should not be a problem. This is the delema NZ or OZ, 2 completely diffrent places but both with better oppertunities for me and the family. As you can tell by my question we are just starting our reasearch. Better to start research knowing you can go than do research fall in love with a place then be told you cant go!
Hope this helps Jase

Having lived in Adelaide and all other cities up the East coast of Oz its hard to tell you what is good and what is bad about the place. as the saying goes one mans meat is another mans poison. as for myself, i could not stand the place it seems to be a very clicky type of city, and its out on its own. its about 12 to 14 hours drive to the east coast (depending if you drive fast or not) and basicaly the'rs nothing between thats worth talking about, unless you like sheep. The north of the city is where most of the crime seems to stem from and I suppose this is because its were most migrants ended up on the 10 pound ticket (nothing against the 10 pound migrants) its just how it is, every other migrant seemed to get sent to the same area. so it became a big mix of ideas and cultures. The south of the city is probably better although there are areas that are getting pretty bad. realy depends on your qualifications too. if your in the building trade then its the place to go. if your in IT then go to sydney (if you can aford to). Melbourn is probably the best place i have lived. Relativly cheap housing, good food and work. the schools are better too. as i said i have lived in most of th cities along the east coast and melbourne is as close to england as i have seen.
hope its of help......
