Adelaide
Hia,
I'm looking at the best place to move at present. We can qulify for the Skilled Migration app but only if we invest 100k as points now gone up to 120 and not sure we want to do that as want to kepp house in UK and have a years worth of money to live on comfortably without me or my hubby getting a job ( may seem a bit excessive, but like to cover risk!!)
Therefore we have been looking at the 67 point way of getting (non major city) and have been thinking of Adelaide.
Does anyone have any experience of Adelaide, especially around ease of getting IT jobs (Project Manager) and Fiancial advisor type of jobs, and also generallu what it's like to live there (me 32, hubby 30).
Any advice really appreciated.
Cheers
Giz

Have you also thought of the new SIR visa? I think you only need 110 points!

Yup according to the article I read on SIR Visa, 110 points is all that's needed.

These are the states participating in the SIR visa scheme.....
Should have a list on where you can and cannot live.

Hi Gizmo
Me and me wife are looking into the SIR visa. We are about to start using Go Matilda as our agent (they come highly recommended).
I too am in IT (software tester )and we are gonna aim for Adelaide also (i think quite a few people are these days).
I have read there is IT work there, just may take a bit of time getting the right job I guess. I'll be prepared to do other work like office temping while seeking a testing role.
I have researched Adelaide and it does sound like a very nice city. I think it also has a nice climate (i like hot) a bit mediteranean i hear.
Good luck with your plans!

Re: Adelaide
Hi Giz,
We too are looking to move to Adelaide - not been there yet but have a trip booked for Christmas.
There is another site called 'AdelaideBrits' which is a dicussion forum for people wanting to move/already in Adelaide - everyone on their seems very helpful, as they are on Expats!!
If you have more specific questions someone will be able to help.
Sue
