Additional Freight Cost
Having just called forward our container from Allied Pickfords in Birmingham, we received an E-Mail forwarding invoices for payment, the shock horror one was for £616.36 for 'additional freight charge'.
We expected some increase but this seems way out of proportion. Has anyone had a similar shock, is there any way to reduce the bill?

Re: Additional Freight Cost
why would there be an increase anyway????? Have you asked for a pro-forma invoice showing a breakdown of all shipping charges.

Re: Additional Freight Cost
The short answer is yes, but we only got a very general answer, 'the stored amount was greater than the quote', 'shipping costs have risen' and my favorite 'we are not making any profit out of this'. All seem very odd, as the quote had a direct bearing on the insurance you would have thought that would have increased the premium as soon as they knew.
So those about to move beware.
