Default actuaries in australia

Hi

I need some career advice from soem actuaries in Australia.
First soem back ground.I have worked in IT for like 2.5 yrs now.I am 26yrs old.Have masters and a bach in computer science.I am now looking at changing my career a little.I love IT but I would like to dabble in actuarial sciences too.It seems pretty interesting.Are there jobs where you can work in IT and do some actuarial work??? Mbe something like SAP financials?????(Pardon my ignorance I dont work in ERP)
Any inputs are highly appreciated

I am an accountant and I am sure you know the stereotype accountants have for being boring but the joke goes that people that become actuaries do so because they find accountancy too exciting.

I wonder if you really mean actuary as their job is typically valuing pensions and would have little to do with SAP, in my experience.

I have done a few SAP implementations in recent years and have found the accountancy / IT cross-over to be interesting and challenging work (as well as being well-paid!) You do need to be excellent at one of IT and accountancy and proficient in the other to be successful at it in my experience.

What about Insurance? I work in insurance (as a code monkey {Programmer}) but i am always speaking with actuaries for EDI purposes and stats etc.?

been a great help
I currently work in J2EE and .net I plan to change that and try my hand in something different new country new career lets see how it goes
