Question accommodation

Hi all

When you moved over did you already have your accommodation planned for when you got off the plane.

It is just the 2 of us and cant get a house until we get over because we have 2 border collies which are in quarantine for a month so that gives us 4 weeks to find somewhere to live.

What happens if you want to hire a car at the airport as we are planning to move to bunbury so we need transport to get us there but have no address to give them.

Anyone else been in this situation.
Let us know how you got on.

Happy New Year
Beth

A lot of the car hire companies will do one way rentals , maybe check out the web sites ( goolge ) we have booked rental car through europcar and find them good value , but heres a tip use the link on the www.virginblue.com.au site for them as it seams to be a better price than direct on their site .
We have booked a furnished holiday let for the 1st 10weeks so as to have loadsa of time to find a house to buy and jobs etc .
Good luck

WE are in the same position. Fly to Sydney next Sunday and have only arranged a hire car at airport. They haven't asked for an address - you just need to show your driving license when you collect car. Just give them your old UK one if they ask. You have to specify where are you returning the car anyway.

Don't have any accomodation either, not even a hotel . We'll find something I'm sure Gotta get a rental asap and dog comes out of quarantine at first week in Feb.

I'm not panicking!

We did the same as previous poster - had a rental sorted, but still being built when we got here so took a holiday apartment down in Surfers for a couple of weeks until our place was ready - car hire is no problem - again, as stated, use your UK licence and let them know where you will be dropping off. We hired a car from Europcar for a month, bought our own cars after a couple of weeks and took it back early no problem at all - full refund of unused days.

Hi

We had a short term rental booked for when we arrived, and it took us about a week to find a house to rent so it all fitted in well. We just hired a car at the airport, but had prebooked it and arranged to return it to a different depot, so all in all it worked out well.

4 weeks is loads of time to secure a 6 month+ rental. We got ours in 9 days.
