Default Accessing Super - PR Visa

Hi, I lived and worked in Aus between 2011 & 2015 on a skilled migration PR visa. Is it possible to access my Superannuation account after my PR Visa has expired? Or alternatively is it possible to transfer over to a UK based pension scheme? Many thanks

Yes you can access it, residency status is irrelevant. Online is easiest.

No you can't transfer it to a UK pension scheme: https://bdhsterling.com/7-key-things...ion-in-the-uk/

Hi. Couple of things:

Your PR visa doesn't expire, just the travel part of it, so withdrawal of your superannuation is subject to ATO legislation. Under this legislation Australian permanent residents and citizens can only withdraw their super early under a limited number of circumstances, eg for health or financial hardship reasons. Unless you are eligible to apply for early release of your super under one of the specified circumstances, you'll need to wait until you've reached your superannuation preservation age or until you turn 65 years of age.

Only those who accumulated their superannuation while on a temporary resident visa can have immediate access to their superannuation under the Departing Australia Superannuation Payment (DASP) scheme
