Default 82.5 Litres/day/person

I got my water bill the other day and it appears that we are using 82.5 l/day/person.

The water company says I should be aiming for 155 l/day/person. What should I do to meet the target?

You could leave the tap on while you brush your teeth?

We have EXACTLY the same problem in our house - 4 people and we struggle to use any more than 300lt a day... I have no idea how people manage to be anywhere near the 'target 140'

Oh dear, I'm on less than 50l per day (for all 4 of us!!)

My average weekly usage is 344 litres. No wonder my grass is dead

I must admit I saw on TV where they were saying people should try to use less than 155L per person per day and I couldn't work out how you could use that much if you are doing all the normal water saving things.

We use about 150l a day for a family of 4 - 2 adults, 2 kids. Otto bin size? Ain't bad at all. Down from 400 odd before we had tanks for washing machine and toilets.

It is the gardens that do it, 10 minutes watering the lawn can use about 90 litres.

One thing I've never understood either here or in the UK is the obsession with watering grass If you're in a real drought area it's going to do sod all and if you're not then at some point it will rain and the grass will come back. It's a totally pointless and ridiculous waste of water.
