Default 6 month tourist visa and $$$$$$

I have a friend wishing to come over here on a 6 month tourist visa. We know that certain funds are needed to get this visa but cannot find out how much. Has anyone any idea??

I am told that a years working visa requires a minimum of 3000 pounds in the bank, but he is not eligible for this sort of visa. I wondered if a similar amount is needed for the 6 month long stay visa.

Can anyone help??

My forecast says 25 however lots of storms this week in Adelaide. I presume it just relative, here it's -2 and bitter, although some spring sunshine this afternoon...

Been blowing a gale ALL night and still is, and currently I think about 14 degrees - bloody freezing if you have been used to temps over 30. And the forecast for the week is not too good either, mid to high 20's, rain and the odd storm - Autumn is coming!
