Default 457/PR visa visiting UK on holiday

Hello all,

We are on a 457 visa and our PR visa application is in at the moment.

We have a UK holiday booked in June and I was wondering if we need to let immigration know or apply for a holiday visa of some sort if we are still on the 457 visa. Or, if we get the PR visa by then, what will we need to do?

Thanks,
Ren

What type of PR application is it? Onshore or offshore.

Then yes tell them you are going if you do not have your visa by then, as you need to be onshore for them to grant it.

If you get it before you go, then there is nothing you need to do. You could get the new label if you want, but you don't have to.

Hi, thanks very much for that. Fingers crossed we get PR by then. Long story but its not guaranteed by any means and if we get knocked back I don't know what we will do.

We were in the same situation - as BS says just let them know you're going away. Ours became ready whilst we were away so we were told just to give them a shout when we got back, and then it all went through.

Fingers crossed that you get it.

If your 457 is going to expire while you are away, you may need a Bridging Visa B to be re-admitted to Australia.
