Default 309 visa holder - can my 15yr old son work?

Hi,

My eldest is 15 and has applied for a job at the local Maccas - the only problem we've now got is that the manager isn't sure if he can work on my visa (we've been here in Nov 2009 on a temporary 309 spousal visa).

I have full work rights but I'm not sure about my boy - typically Immigration is closed today so can anyone point me in the direction of some info I can print out and take to the store to show he can work.

Thanks,

Fiona

HI Fe,
Not sure about the visa issue but has you son got a TFN? If not he can get the form from School, His career advisor will have them.

The visa label in his passport will tell you if there is a work limitation. On a 309 I'm 99% sure there won't be one for a dependent.

He's fine, visa-wise he can work as much as he likes, same as if he was on PR
