Default 190 visa employment question

Can anyone tell me if I need to be currently working in the skilled job that I am using to apply for the 190 visa? I no longer work for the company/job that I am using to apply. If I don't need to be is there somewhere official where it says this. I was told I don't need to be working in the job anymore but can't find it anywhere. Thanks!

I would check the skills assessment requirements for your occupation - many, but not all, require that you have worked in that occupation for x amount of months/years in the past x amount of years.

eg, IIRC, electricians need to have worked in the trade for at least 12 months in the previous 3 years.
