I have tickets to the theatre in Parma and was wondering where is the best place to park and how to get there in the car - my knowledge of the city is limited to getting to Palaciti (and even then I manage to take a different route each time ).

Teatro Regio?

Barilla Center (on the via Emilia, just before the roundabout and via Repubblica) has 24hr parking, 1 hour free and €7.50 for 24hrs. From there you can walk straight up via Repubblica, then go right at Piazza Garibaldi onto via Garibaldi and you'll see the theatre right ahead. That's about a 5-10 minute walk.

Or you can park at the car-park on Viale Toschi (the street directly opposite the station, with the torrente on one side and Pilotta at the other end), which is nearer but there's more traffic. Not sure how much that costs, but from there you can just walk down through Pilotta and you'll arrive almost directly at the theatre.

Maybe Hadenoughpizza knows better than me, we don't usually drive into Parma.

The closest place to park is in the underground carpark in Viale Toschi, watch what time you'll be out of the theatre because I'm not sure its 24/7 . You could also see if the park and ride place is open , park there and take the bus in . what time is the theatre ?

The show starts at 9 pm but we have to collect our tickets etc first.
So excited - we are going to see the young pianist Giovanni Allevi (my daughter has just started playing and she adores him)
