Taxi Wars
Hi everyone
To all the RSA expats thinking about coming home, DONT!! I was on my way home yesterday, and in rush hour traffic, a taxi war started. This is in the north of Joburg, a good area. More than 40 shots were fired. I was right in the middle of it!!! Along with the rest of the cars. Peopla running in every directions, shots going off... And guess what? When I tried to phone the police, no one answeres thier phones!!!
A woman was shot right in font of me, I think she was dead. Then I hear on the news this morning, that another shootout occured between taxis on Hans Strydom drive and 13 peopla have been injured/shot!!!! What kind of a country are we living in?

Yep! It used to be far away places where this stuff happened. Now it's just round the corner - the bank where you do your banking, the shopping centre where you do your shopping, your neighbours.

I am so glad that you are okay. It is extremely scary to be stuck in peak hour traffic and a taxi war starts before your eyes
