Life partner visa
Hi, hoping someone can help me out. Me and my partner came over from the UK last week as he was offered a job. His employers are in the process of getting a permanent work visa and have suggested that we get a life partner visa so that they can also sponsor me for living here.
My partners employers have said that we would need to apply for this in the UK. Other posts that I have read indicated that the law has not yet changed and it is still possible to apply whilst in SA. Does anyone know if this is correct?
Also, can anyone clarify if this type of visa is granted to non SA partners as I read somewhere that your partner should be a SA citizen. We are both from the UK.
Hoping someone can help.
P.s I am here on a 3 month tourist visa.
Many thanks

Re: Life partner visa
Hi,
We were in the same situation as you, but couldn't apply from the UK as we are not married. A week after I arrived on a 90 day visa, my boyfriends company filed the paperwork for my life partner visa, and now we wait! You are still able to do it here - just ensure that you get all of the paperwork that you need in the UK before you arrive
good luck
