Great ! I pass the FNB Stadium often and it looks majestic its about 95% done and will host the opening and and final game. On Saturday we played a international friendly in the newly completed East London stadium and have another game scheduled in the Bloemfontein stadium tomorrow.

Road improvement projects are causing headaches with traffic congestion but it was past due. The Johannesburg airport have been upgraded and a new one was built in KZN. Exciting times I dare say.

Dave...the fixer. are you in the construction game ...?

I am sure there are a lot of successful developments but there is a fly in the ointment that needs to be acknowledged and that is the transport problem. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8351066.stm It was predicted that it would end up later in the event but word from family believe the rail service will most likely only be completed after the world cup.

I personally dont think the OrTambo - Sandton link will be completed in time. Listening to the Gauteng premier on TV the other day I noticed how she backtracked saying that completing the airport link before the world cup commences was always going to be a bonus as opposed to it being the original objective all along.

Even completing it during the World Cup wouldnt be a good thing as this would be our first rail endeavor of this nature and being hit by the tsunami of internal and international travellers needing to get to and from the airport could yield unpredictable possibly very negative results.

Gillooleys interchange and the Marlboro offramp is being upgraded and will be done on time. That should help a bit .Presently I avoid the airport road from the Barbara offramp through Gillooleys going either south or north after 16H00 at times it becomes a bit of a parking lot.
