Default Bad time of the year

As much as I love the holidays here, I miss the fandamily like crazy. It is the one time of the year I get especially angry at the nimcompoops who have forced my children and husband to leave the country of their births and scatter my family all over the globe.

Anyone feeling like this (I know Tegs mentioned something)?

I get like this every blooming year.

I swear more than usual, which sounds like a Gordon Ramsay cooking show......

They've been going around the Horn and I've been picking them up here in FL.

The holidays brings it out more than normal but I find it doesn't hit all the time. Some holidays more than others. I'm a great aunt to some little tykes that I am yet to meet. We are trying to arrange a gathering in the UK sometime next year. Sort of half way point for us all. Look forward to that. I would love them to come here and get them to play in the snow. Also watching those little faces open prezzies on Christmas morning. Those little faces are precious.

I bet you do. You eat with that mouth?
Well throw them back you silly woman. No wonder people in SA think I’m doing nothing to help.

How hard is that? I won’t see my parents this year, but they live in the states so we see them twice a year. I look forward to putting down “Magic Snow” (talcum powder) for the boy with foot prints from Father Christmas in it. Just like granny did for me in durbs at Christmas.

Talc as magic snow - what a cute idea! My father was not as ingenious. He told me that Father Christmas could not always use reindeer in hot climates so would use springboks or zebras depending on which was faster on any given year. I really believed him too.......

That’s a very SA solution. I have the neighbors dog that escapes everyonece and a while but that’s nor nearly as romantic. I really believed in magic snow . Those were the days…..

I did. I have enjoyed every single stage of their lives and I'm fantastically close to them. They're good kids brought up the S.A. way

They haven't changed much in their teens - excepting now they're into girls with big boobs, cars, girls with big boobs, girls with big boobs, girls with big boobs.....
