Default Which qualification?

Hi I have loads of GCSEs (grades A-C), various business qualifications from 10 years ago but I need to update them for our skilled visa application. I am not sure whether to do a couple of A Levels or a ACCA (Association of Chartered Accountants) Certified Accounting Technician Course? Or would a HND in Business and Finance be more suitable??

Really really stuck as to what route to take and quick! Cant bear to imagine the rest of my familys' days stuck in the UK. (my kids are 14, 8 and 20 mths). Hubby is hoping to come on his Auto Electrician Trade. (We currently run our own successful business here)

Any advice?? (p.s not sure if I posted this in the right place, I am new to this wonderful site)

If you only have GCSEs it's going to be a long time before you can qualify as a professional accountant.

Ideally the best route would see if you can become an Accounting Technician with the AAT, http://www.aat.org.uk

Once qualified as an AAT, you can then switch to ACCA to do professional study. If you select your route carefully you can get a BSc degree on the way to do your ACCA.

Its probably best to do CAT first, then first, then ACCA Professional course, in which you can "opt in" to a Bsc scheme (it just means the only additional work is a 10,000 written essay). The Professional Scheme (which gives you the qualification) takes a minimum of 2 yrs, but normally about 3-3.5 yrs. I don't know how long CAT takes...but if you do want the ACCA and dont have a gegree, you should definitely begin with CAT (and not AAT).

Why do you suggest CAT rather than AAT? AAT is an established qualification, while CAT is not all that accepted in the marketplace.
