Perpetual Foreigner: Comfy with it....
Hello to everyone, from a detribalised Geordie on a Scottish island. At first it seemed like a life sentence, but after 16 years it sort of feels like home. Plus! When I watch the locals drinking and drugging, I feel pure and wholesome, almost.
I grew up in England, Australia, Serth Efrica and Rhodesia (where there was a bit of a revolution to turn the country into Zimbabwe - I was on the team that won 2nd Place....)
It's tough being a foreigner - but it's what I am, and I've reached the age when I can't see the benefit of trying to fit in
I've dipped into quite a few of the posts on this forum and it looks like my sort of place - serious questions and answers about serious topics and some irreverent, highly entertaining stuff as well. Almost like real life, but it smells better and doesn't hurt as much.

Hello
Looks like you've already settled in to BE forums and found your way around the different boards so nothin' much else to say. Happy bantering.

Some?? I find MOST of them irreverent , when I was younger my dream was to be a perpetual traveler (what a suprise!), not sure perpetual foreigner means the same thing and is as glamorous but welcome on board, you must have a lot of experience to share.

Being as you've lived in so many countries there are quite a few forums in the Living and Moving Abroard forum you may be interested in joining. There are also several forums in the General Forums Section that you may want to take a look at.
BE is a large expat website...so it's understandable that you may have problems finding your way around our many forums. We have a team of concierges who will direct you around the website. You can find a list of their names at the bottom right hand side of this page.
For all other problems or concerns please contact a moderator...their names are located at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index page. Moderators' names are in bold font.
Before you post please read any 'sticky' threads or announcements that are posted at the top of each forum's index page.
Please give me a shout if you need any help.
Be patient...many of us are still getting our zzzzzzzzz's in.

do whatever feels right for you, being a foreigner isn't so bad, home is where the heart is.
