Absolutely top-notch, wasn't it? Haunting & memorable, which is why I still remember the hurling match (& its immediate aftermath) that opens the film . . . .

No fear of turning the TV on and seeing "The Plank" on tonight.

Watch it again, maybe?

I was naming them all and then checking to see who was still alive (how sad am I). It was simple, silly slapstick type comedy which was what appealed to people at that time, it is an age thing I guess

The weather, the houses are spacious and huge, the people are friendly and happy (most of them) the roads are wide . The kids have seen things and been to places that if we were in the uk we would never have had the chance. the beaches (we are in florida) are beautiful.

the food is awful sugary and salty
you have to drive everywhere
you end up sweating as soon as you get out the front door of your house
nothing is built to last - even houses seem to have a 15 year life span on them
no lieing on the grass like you did in england otherwise you will get eaten alive by fireants
like all places you have to be VERY careful as to which areas you live and which schools the kids go to.
the limitations of your visa are very frustrating
