So you guys like need to take a good look at yourselves before like, running away from yourselves and like, moving back home, britain is 21 behind Malawi, Zimbabwe and Uzbekistan.

make an effort people, stop moaning about the weather and lack of friends and realise you are in the best country in the world if you are in Australia, well OK, second best, but Norway is tough to beat, after .

hahahahahahah just kidding people, bit of a wind up.

How can Norway be best, isnt it dark for 6 months a year?

Its a shame some people have nothing better to do than to wind up people who are less happy than themselves.

Shame lies with anybody taking too seriously such a result. One has to laugh,i mean Iceland,a completely failed economy,Ireland?? for goodness sake Dublin was more expensive than London awhile back..until their property bubble burst. Now unemployment is is back to the early eighties.
The result is a wind up in itself.

Facts and figures mean nothing if you're happy.

And if you are so happy in OZ, why do you have to search for these facts and figures anyway lol...

the thing that is so ironic R is that Sherro hated Australia with every bone in his body, went home to the UK and has pinged back and now appears to be a full fledged godzoner! His post smacks of hypocrisy to me.

Ah nothing like a pingponger to be zealous in their praise of the place. Cant afford to let cognitive dissonance intrude upon their sang froid.

I wonder how they determine "quality of life" - probably not the same markers that I would use otherwise the outcomes would be quite different.

You have to remember that this is a United Nation survey, so low crime
and especially wars or threat of wars largely determine the outcome of the survey, also the country`s economic development is high on their agenda as well, therefore, the more peaceful the country the better the economic development of the place will be. Countries like Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland come near the top, because the threat of war is almost zero and therefore with the exception of Iceland, they have very good economic and social conditions (Iceland still qualifies because its extremely peaceful) Other countries that would also score highly outside of Europe would probably be Uruguay and Chile which are also stable, peaceful and safe. Climate is another category, so as long as its not a war zone countries like Australia with its warm climate also score highly, as do Scandinavia which despite being cold does have a very dry climate as opposed to the damp conditions of say the UK, Ireland and Holland for example.

What the survey doesn`t consider is the diversity and vibrancy of the country, because if this were the case the USA and the UK would probably fill the top two spots on there.

But then again a survey that puts Malawi and Zimbabwe in the top 20 shouldn`t overly be taken seriously.

You only have quality of life if you are happy where you are. These surveys are all a bit pointless. UK at 21? That is simply bollocks.

I think the intelligence is in ignoring these surveys and not even considering looking at the sources
